Ravenpaw heard a cat coming behind her. She didn't even know the cat's name, which made her not that much happier. She didn't know a thing. She thought about his question for a moment, wondering if she really wanted to come. Her first impulse was no, but then she thought that maybe she did want to come. They would need her, after all, to teach them the warrior code. She was the only Clan cat, and she was the only one that could teach them that. "I have to come, if you ever want to be a Clan" she told the cat simply. She didn't really want to leave, but obviously they were ready. Ravenpaw got up and went to join the group of cats.

So she's decided to join us thought Skookum with a bit of amusement as the black she-cat came padding out of the forest. Did that mean they were leaving? Ravenpaw looked as if she had a lot on her mind, the way she walked made it seem as if she wasn't entirely concentrated on the present. Can't say I blame her, he thought, stifling a yawn. As she joined the rest of the cats, Skookum decided that it might be the time to ask. "Are we leaving now? How far is it to our new territory?" he mewed, deciding to end there, ignoring the other questions in his head. He hoped it wasn't far, he hadn't slept since yesterday. He had been about to take a nap when he heard the other cats talking about the clan.

Icepaw sat and watched as Ravenpaw left and the cats talked about how they had gotten here. Icepaw already knew most of it, so he let them talk among themselves for a while. He was going to follow Ravenpaw, but Depthshadow beat him to it. Icepaw was glad though when she came back. I hope she stays. he thought. He barely remember the clans and he knew nothing of the warrior code. He needed her to teach them if they were going to become a real clan. "Well." he said, standing up. "I suppose we should be going to our territory. Except I'm not going to expect that the clans left it alone. They've probably split it between themselves and if we want it back we'll have to do more than ask. They won't want to give up their territory to a bunch of rouges. So then I suppose we'll just have to show them that we aren't rouges. We we're going to make a clan, we have to be clan cats first. I admit I don't know much about them." he said, then he turned to Ravenpaw. "You've been living in a clan Ravenpaw. Care to tell us where to start?"
((I think I'm just going to make Whitepelt a permanent character for me. I'll post his bio as soon as I have the time.))

Ravenpaw smiled grimly at Icepaw. She knew only to well what teaching them to be a Clan would mean. She sincerely hoped they were up to that kind of task. "Every Clan has their territory and claims it, but you have to defend it to keep it," she explained just in case, "if you can't someone will steal it. You have to learn to fight the other Clans for territory. If you can't, you might get by offering them something so they'll leave you be..." her voice wandered off as she imagined this small group of cats trying to defend themselves against any Clan. She would have to teach them anything they didn't know about territories before they could learn about the basic Clan structure at all.
She hissed her frustration. Ravenpaw hadn't imagined teaching a bunch of rogues how to be a Clan. There was nothing to it, however. She would have to do this if BreezeClan ever came back. Still, Ravenpaw felt they would only stand a chance of the other Clans were tired of the war and willing to give up the territory, which she doubted. Cats had died in fights over the old BreezeClan territory, and no one would want those deaths to all be in vain. If there were to be four Clans, this small group of rogues would have to be given territory.

Skookum thought about what Ravenpaw had said. Were they strong enough to win back BreezeClan territory yet? Looking around at the cats, the answer was obvious. Even though all of the cats looked like they could handle a fight, five cats couldn't defeat a clan. How many cats are in a clan, anyways? He wondered. Maybe there was another way. They could try negotiating with the clans, but that wasn't likely to work. Even if some cats were willing to give up the territory, either because they were tired of fighting or they wanted BreezeClan to return, there would be 3 times as many who would rather keep the territory for themselves. Maybe there was another place they could stay temporarily. Bringing that thought up, he mewed "Is this the only territory available right now, or is there somewhere else we could stay while we prepared?" He knew there were rogues everywhere around here, but there was usually a bit of land left. Probably not enough to support 4 cats though, he realized.

"Well, we could stay anywhere, as long as we wanted, really, but to actually be a Clan, it would be pretty odd to have territory that is on the outside and doesn't connect to the Gathering place. We can stay in any place as long as it has food, water, and shelter, really. To actually get BreezeClan back, I don't think we can do that." Ravenpaw frowned as she thought about it. It would be nice if they could just get new territory, not take back the old territory, but it was also pretty impossible. How could a Clan live on the periphery? No, they had to get their old territory back. There was nothing else to it.

Skookum refrained from rolling his eyes. While we prepared.Once again, the she-cat had misunderstood him. "Well, I'm not saying we can't take the territory eventually, but we might be able to stay somewhere else until," he paused, collecting his words "Well, you know, we're stronger. Strong enough to fight the clans for the territory." He didn't want to risk his pelt against battle-trained warriors unless it was absolutely necessary. His mind started to wander again. What would the territory be like? He knew from stories among the rogues that each clan had a specialty that reflected their territory. What was BreezeClan's? And will I be able to live without having that special trait? He realized with a sinking feeling. This wasn't a clan adapted precisely to their territory after years and years of living there, this was a mishmash of rogues and loners from goodness knows where. He was eager to see the territory, but he was never one to rush into things. "To give us time to plan and recruit. That sort of thing," he ended awkwardly, waiting for a reply.

"Yes, that's really what I meant" Ravenpaw said, realizing that she must have sounded very confusing. She had been forcing her thoughts and hadn't really considered what someone would think about what she said. "Actually, we should do that, so you guys can learn to fight, and we can fidn more cats. It's a really good idea, probably the only thing that would work unless their willing to just give the territory up." Of course, Ravenpaw could imagine how it would feel to give it up like that, and didn't expect it. They would grow stronger somewhere nearby, then fight for the territory, it seemed right. The Clans could fight among themselves all they wanted, that would make it even easier.

Depthshadow followed Ravenpaw back to the group of cats, sat down, and watched intently as she talked with the other cat. When the conversation seemed to have finished, he stood up and meowed, "it sounds good to me. Actually, I know a good place, I found it on one of the trips I took to the clans' territory to spy on them. There's some hills, just a little to the east of what used to be BreezeClan's territory, there's lots of prey, and I think we would do pretty well there. If that's all right with you?" He turned to Iceclaw.

Iceclaw nodded. "It sounds good to me. It's probably the best we can get now. What dot he rest of you think?" he asked, looking to the other cats.

Skookum shrugged his shoulders before speaking. "Fine with me," he mewed casually. He obviously thought it was a good idea to not attack immediately. But another question surfaced: Were there any more cats who would join them? The only chance they had of winning BreezeClan territory back was if they could attract new cats. Iceclaw had found most of the rogues in the forest and asked them already, and these were the only cats that had followed. Even if they got some battle training, how long would it take? Oh well, I can wait, he thought silently. He knew it mattered to the clan cats, but to him, where they lived was not as important. Of course Ravenpaw will want to move back to her rightful territory... But that will need to wait a while it appears.

Ravenpaw ignored the rest as they talked, thinking along her own line of thought. It made her uncomfortable to think of an apprentice suddenly becoming a leader, and since Icepaw and her were the only ones fit to be leader, and both were apprentices in some respect, Ravenpaw had no idea of what to do. Icepaw might want to get himself a warrior name again once they got settled in. Maybe they could do a little ceremony and give themselves warrior names.
If Icepaw didn't know the ceremony (which she doubted he did since he had had no interaction with warriors for 12 moons, though it was possible he remembered it) she could perform it, but that would be acting like she was leader, and these rogues had already stated they thought Icepaw would be the best leader. It would be lost if he didn't know it, though, and it might be wrong anyway.
Ravenpaw wished, more than anything, that StarClan could come and tell her the answer to her problem, if they could safely perform their own warrior ceremony, if Icepaw really should be leader, and if this was even a good idea. But what if they came and said that rogues could never make a Clan? What if they had been behind the destruction of BreezeClan, and Ravenpaw and Icepaw should not have survived it? What if they told her to leave, she would never be a true warrior, and to live as a rogue, with no code like the Clan had? Ravenpaw doubted she could do it. She would much rather kill herself then try to live alone, or with a group of rogues. That thought in itself was depressing. She looked up, begging StarClan what to do. The thought of trying to talk to them, at the Lightning-Struck Sands, entered her mind, but how could she get there without be seen? What if the rogues thought she was leaving them? What if MireClan tried to bring her back, and wouldn't listen? Sad as it sounded, Ravenpaw doubted Duststar would want BreezeClan back. He had been wanting land ever since they were gone and their territory up for grabs.
There was nothing Ravenpaw could think of. She sat, alone in her little bubble of despair with no one to count on, dwelling on these horrible thoughts and forgetting, for the time, that the others were even there, and not at all knowing there was any conversation going between them, or that they might want her ot get up so they could go.

"All right. I could show you the way to that place I found earlier," Depthshadow offered. "And then when we are there, I could go spy on the clans a little bit before we actually try taking back BreezeClan's territory. Choose the best moment to attack and whatever." He stretched and yawned. "Well, I'm getting tired of just sitting around here. Let's go." He looked around the group and saw that that MireClan apprentice cat was just sitting down and staring off into the distance. He took a few steps closer and swatted her lightly with his paw, then jumped back to avoid any retaliation. "We're leaving, come on..."

Skookum steadily rose to his paws, stretching quickly. He couldn't wait to get going. Depthshadow's territory sounded ideal, green rolling hills sounded perfect to him. Not to mention an ideal attack base, he realized. The territory was close to BreezeClan territory, which meant they could easily launch an attack. Whether there was enough cover or not to be stealthy was yet to be seen, but they could always attack during the night.... Wait a minute, his mind was jumping to conclusions. He had yet to see the territory, and it wasn't even known whether there had to be a battle yet. His paws buzzed with excitement, he took a few paces to stand behind Depthshadow. He stared expectantly at Ravenpaw, hoping she was ready to go.

Ravenpaw looked up. "Oh... Um... Okay" she said, getting to her feet and starting off. She paid no attention and soon realized she wasn't actually following them, but trailing off, she hurried back to the group and tried to keep her mind on walking, but she couldn't. To much buzzed around inside her head. She fell back to give her time to think some more about everything. She didn't much care how far the others got, or really where they were going. Nothing was planned out right now. She had been foolish to leave MireClan, ridiculously foolish.
