Name and previous names: Russetkit
Gender: Tom
Clan: Thornclan
Ranking: Kit
Age in moons: 1
Physical description: A tabby mix with gray-green eyes. He has stripes down his sides, but his back, the back of his head, ears, and down to his tail are straight black. The stripes on his fur are a steely brown. He has a light muzzle, chest, and circles around his eyes. His nose is dark brown, and the insides of his ears are the same color. His paw pads are pink, as is his tongue. His claws are black and they are very long and sharp for just a kit. His ears are rather big for the rest of his body, and his tail is a bit fluffy. His whiskers are silver, but they gleam white when he moves in darkness.
Mental description: Very mature for a kit his age, he is serious a lot of the time. He hates it when others look down on him, and if he doesn't like you he lets you know about it. He has a sharp tongue when he needs to, but he knows his place. He can also be very kind and loving, and if you get on his good side it's nearly impossible to get off.
Personal history: Russetkit's eyes finally opened for the first time. Light streamed in and the slowly the blurry world took shape. He was nestled in between his mother's paws, gazing at his mother with green eyes. When his mother noticed, she breathed softly in satisfaction. Beside Russetkit were his brother and sister. He blinked and looked at them, realizing their eyes were not opened yet. Russetkit stared at his siblings for a long moment. Then he blinked, waving his tail slowly. His black-stripped fur ruffled in the soft breeze and he put his ears back happily. He climbed to his paws and stumbled out of his mother's paws. In turn, he fell flat on his face and mewed. His mother smiled.
Russetkit got back up and slowly staggered over to his mother, climbing onto her back. His front paw slipped and his chin hit the ground suddenly, making his head ring.
His mother watched. She leaned over to her son and helped him sit up. “The trick is to use your tail as balance.” She murmured softly.
He blinked at her and looked at his tail, waving it lightly. He stood up again, legs shaking a bit under his weight that he hadn't learned how to hold up. His mother poked him with her nose encouragingly. “Go on!” He looked at her and hesitated. He stepped twice then stumbled but caught himself. He grinned proudly and waved his tail once again, looking back at his mother, searching her face for approval. His mother smiled broadly. She knew he was going to be a great cat.
A few weeks later...
Midnightkit jumped on Russetkit, who was asleep. It was a few minutes after midnight, and the sky was dark. “Russet! Wake up...!” Her voice rose to a mew. She shook him with her paws, claws digging slightly into his fur.
Russetkit lazily opened his green eyes and looked at his black-coated sister who was barely visible against the dim-silver light of the moon and stars. “What?” He croaked.
“I smell something, Russet! Something is sneaking around here!” She murmured. Her golden eyes and her wet nose were the only things that could be seen clearly in the murky darkness.
Russet put his paws over his ears. “Midnight, it's probably just a cat! Go bug Lionkit, I'm tired...” He mumbled, shutting his eyes once again.
“Russet, I haven't smelt it before.” She squeaked. She sat, laid her ears down, and stared at him with gold eyes. She was shivering. She was really scared.
Russetkit dragged himself up and nudged her with his nose. “Everything is okay...” He said softly. “We'll check it out.”
She waved her tail slightly and stood to her paws once again. “Last time I smelt it, it was over by the trees.” She told him.
He trotted over to the trees, fur pricking in the cool night air. His whiskers gleamed in the moonlight. “I don't smell anything.” He said, sniffing the air. “Just our scents from yesterday...” He told her, opening his mouth slightly.
“Well it was here...” She murmured, looking around, head low.
He froze suddenly. “Wait.” He breathed. His fur stood on end. He looked around, swallowing. “Come on, Midnight, let's go tell mother...” He said quickly.
It was then that Nightheart had to get rid of the kittens. They couldn't stay around her anymore – she was supposed to stay away from clan territories. She brought him to the Thornclan borders, where he was found and gladly taken in as a kitten who had been abandon.

I will add onto this as he gets older. Russetkit was made after a real kitten named Russet. I was glad to have met the three kittens and their mother, but sadly, I could not keep them and had to give them to the pound. They will always be remembered by me, even if they are forgotten by others...
Dedicated to Russet, Simba, and Midnight.
