Name and previous names: Charcoal, Depthshadow
Gender: Tom
Clan: Rouge
Ranking: Rouge
Age in moons: 15
Physical description: He is a handsome pitch black with a dark, smoky gray underbelly, and his short fur is neither sparce nor thick, but tending more towards the sparce side. His eyes are almond-shaped, and very pale yellow. His head is well shaped, slightly broad and triangular-ish, with a strong brow and jaw. His tail is a little long, tapering towards the tip. The lines of his muscles and bones are clean under his short fur. He is average sized, but athletically built, well-muscled with powerful hind legs and shoulders in particular.
Mental description: Depthshadow is cunning, innovative, logical, and creative: he's great at designing detailed battle plans, organizing small groups of cats (such as a hunting patrol) for maximum efficiency, and overall a very valuable cat to his clan, but his loyalty is not the best, to say the least. He can see how the clans' system works, and admires it very much; the healthy caring for the sick, the apprentices hunting for the elders, and each cat working towards the overall good of the clan... However, he remains a skeptic of the warrior code occasionally -- especially when it comes to the part "the word of the clan leader is law", and doesn't have anywhere near the fierce loyalty of the clanborn cats.
He is highly emotional... happy, sad, annoyed, whatever, and doesn't change moods very fast -- if he gets angry, he's likely to stay angry for a while, but if he does something to distract himself from brooding on his thoughts, he'll forget about it quickly.
Socially, he doesn't mind being on his own (definitely not a social butterfly), but he can be friendly and likable enough when he's around other cats, and enjoys talking and listening -- but, at the same time, is a rather private cat, and tends to shy away from personal questions.
For all his criticism of the warrior code and his uncertain loyalty to his clan, Depthshadow remains... not moral, exactly, but a good cat at heart. He's not very nice -- as in, thoughtful, caring, kind, going out of his way as to not hurt others' feelings; however, he will fiercely stand by what he feels is right.
Personal history: He was born in an abandoned barn, named Charcoal, and had two siblings. His mother and father were two of about fifteen roaming cats that loosely used the barn as their base, returning to it only when they felt like it and catching prey for themselves, not usually each other. Nevertheless, it was a good community.
When he grew old enough, he was allowed out of the barn to explore for himself, and allowed on longer and longer trips as he grew older and older.
When he was about ten moons old, he bumped into a rouge named Iceclaw, and, fascinated by the other cat's story of living in a clan of cats, followed Iceclaw back to his group and was given his new name -- Depthshadow. When the group kicked out Iceclaw because they didn't want to be a clan, Depthshadow follow his leader into exile.
