((Waaay to much info in this. I should do this every time...))
Name and previous names: Wolfrain (Wolfkit, Wolfpaw)
Gender: She-cat
Clan: None (Formerly of GaleClan)
Ranking: Loner
Age in moons: 28 moons
Physical description: Her fur is a beautiful silken white. Slowly going down her legs and tail are silver stripes that grow bolder near the bottom and are much more noticeable, while near the top they are very faint. There are silver stripes on her otherwise white face, and the tips of Wolfrain’s ears also sport the silver coloring on the rest of her body. The end of her tail is solid silver instead of stripes, and is also the darkest silver part on her, and rather noticeable. Her legs sport silver and are an off-white color, but her paws are like snow and are completely devoid of any color other than the white seen on other parts of her, but no where on her is it more noticeable than her paws, which have the stunning contrast of silver right next to them to compare too. Her back has very faint silver stripes that are hard to see, though in snow or anything light there are far more pronounced than something like a swamp or even a simple grassy area. In snow, Wolfrain is most detectable by her tail, she makes a very good hunter in times with snow because of how white she is, despite how easy it is to see the silver on her in snow. Prey usually doesn’t until it is too late, and sometimes other cats don’t either.
Her fur is silken and smooth, rather thin like ThornClan cats rather than thicker like some other cats have. It grows thicker in leafbare, and as long as Wolfrain is moving she can be warm enough, though she still gets cold in leafbare. The benefit is she doesn’t sweat as much in greenleaf. She makes the trade of feeling comfortably cool in greenleaf, to being chilled in leafbare. She often likes to move around in leafbare, as it is the only way she heats herself up unless she stays in a den and lets the heat in there warm her up. Exercise is still the best way for Wolfrain without a doubt. Although she would probably make a fine swimmer, Wolfrain tends to fear water most of the time, drinking out of a stream or river quite happily, but more hesitant to jump in. She had swum before and is quite good at it, but Wolfrain prefers dry land over the often cold waters of a river. Water, to her, is for drinking and watching fish swim in unless you are MireClan, but it is not for swimming in, though Wolfrain would not say it isn’t possible to swim as everyone tends to at some point. She prefers to think that it isn’t natural to want to swim or to swim all the time, and cats don’t have fins like fish because they were made for dry land. Therefore, that is way they should stay.
Her eyes are so light blue they look white even though no one could say they are prue white, they definitely look it. The fact this goes along with the fur color of Wolfrain’s pelt does not help matters on this much. Wolfrain will agree if someone says she has white eyes, she is to used to it to tell them they aren’t white, but a very light blue. Part of her thinks they might be right, and Wolfrain warps her reality to make herself think they are a light blue because she doesn’t like the thought of them being white. It is just to odd for her to consider. Standing out is not something Wolfrain takes pride in, though her coat seems to disagree with her. She stand out from most cats with her white pelt, even if it isn’t pure white, it is close enough that she is easily spotted in a mottle of black, brown, and gray cats. Wolfrain does not take pride on this and wants to blend in. She only hunts exceptionally well in leafbare when she is harder to see. She adapts to hunting in any other season by finding foliage thick enough to conceal her, which can be a challenge. She never was a very good hunter because of her color, though Wolfrain tries to adapt. Living as a loner, when she had to hunt for herself and not rely on others, helped Wolfrain to try at hunting harder, but she still has something difficulty at it. It is not her strong suite, and living alone makes it harder. She is hungry often and doesn’t hesitate to take an easy kill or anything similar she might find. Hunger can drive nearly anyone to extremes they would not normally try.
Wolfrain has a very small body. She is smaller than most other cats, and with this comes a certain swiftness and agility that Wolfrain relies on often. She doesn’t have much muscle tone and can’t count on her speed much either, and her stamina tends to suffer usually, but Wolfrain is very agile. Her eyes are sharp as well, and she can usually run and see something and twist to avoid it rather well. She sees easier while running than most other cats would, and tends to detect prey in the landscape pretty well. In battle, Wolfrain may not have the strength of most other cats due to her small size, but she can easily escape injury by twisting out of the way. She is swift on her feet and hasn’t tripped over anything in a long time. Injuries in a fight are where for her if she isn’t alone, because she twists easily and tends to detect the movements. Wolfrain would make a much better decoy, distracting the enemy, then fighting them. She could distract them while others attack, but her attacking abilities are poor. Fighting never interested Wolfrain, and she didn’t learn it very well. She forgot nearly everything she did learn about it while living alone and it wasn’t really necessary. She avoided fights rather than getting into them, which is best for her. Her agile body is also good for climbing up tries, and she finds that a good way to escape. She is also good at climbing down. Trees are second-nature hiding places for her, and very useful. It is a skill many others don’t have, and Wolfrain enjoys having it.
Mental description: Her personality has changed a lot as her life unfolded in front of her. Parts of each are still there, but are now intermingled. Changes were almost nearly necessary for her in a changing world. As her life changed, Wolfrain changed, though she is still wired to her normal personality, she finds that other parts of her jostle to be seen. The personality erupting most is partially how she was when she was a kit before anything bad happened, and partially how she has had to adapt to being a loner. The rest of it is lost in a whirlpool of feelings that slowly sink away from her as time goes on.
The original personality Wolfrain had was one she wouldn’t have minded keeping her whole life. She was a bit quiet and shy, and not always to brave, but always willing to help and afraid to break the rules. The even thought of breaking the Warrior Code used to make her cringe in terror, and part of her is still that way. She was a bit weak in the mind though, and could be persuaded by others to do things she didn’t think were very smart and she didn’t want to do. The bravery she did have tended to show up when she needed it, then slowly disappear until she seemed to be completely wary of her surroundings, afraid anything would leap out and hurt or even kill her. Wolfrain has never liked the idea of death, and tries to shy away from it. Most of her is still kind and wants to help others, even if she knows she shouldn’t. Watching others hurt is painful for her, but sometimes Wolfrain does it. Loyalty has always been a hard subject for her. When she was a kit, she always assumed it was to her Clan and only her Clan, but that changed the moment she met Stripefang.
Wolfrain eased off of worrying about disobedient when she secretly met Stripefang all the time. She enjoyed it so much, she would skip anything to go see him. She didn’t at first realize that it was getting in the ways of her duties. She would pretend to go hunting, but ignore prey and go see him, coming back with nothing when she could have brought a lot back. After a while, she realized that her loyalty was always changing. It worried Wolfrain that she was disloyal to her Clan, but she felt far more loyal to Stripefang, and went to him despite her misgivings. She became bolder and not as shy, though she was more secret and personal, afraid to let anyone know. That part has mostly kept with her, and she has never been as open as she used to be when she was younger. Anything she says could be used against her someday, and Wolfrain now realizes it.
Every single death that happened to her did not harden her, but instead made her even more scared of death. She would flee from it, but hates to leave anyone else there either. Wolfrain has seen death, but she still doesn’t understand it. Any chance to know about it, she runs from. She could know far more than she does about it, but Wolfrain doesn’t, and she doesn’t ever want to either. It worries her that everyone she knows will be gone, long before they ever should be. It seems pretty unfair to her how that works, but there is little to do about it. Wolfrain tries to live with it, but she seems to be connected in a way she cannot escape from. It scares her and makes her feel very vulnerable.
The chances in Wolfrain were amazing when she became a loner. At first, she was shy of most things and didn’t want to mingle with the Clan cats. After a while, she got quite a temper to her. Wolfrain will run from fights and things she doesn’t know about, but you still would not want to see her when she was mad at you. If Wolfrain knows you and can’t imagine any harm, she can prove that she has gotten a temper since she fled GaleClan. She is alert of her surroundings, and will certainly avoid any fights she things are in the making, but Wolfrain doesn’t shy away from everything there is. She tends to investigate most things, as anything could be useful living on her own. She always uses caution in everything, but Wolfrain will investigate things before she flees from them, though the moment she thinks trouble is coming, Wolfrain will find a way to get out of there. Very rarely does she manage to get her courage up. It only seems to happen when she really needs it, which is very rarely, even Wolfrain doesn’t know when she will suddenly feel brave.
Personal history: Life has not been kind to Wolfrain. Her father, Splashpool, liked her least out of the kits in Redheart’s first litter of three. Wolfrain had a sister, Nightkit, and a brother, Rainkit. Despite the fact Splashpool did not like her, Redheart did, and Wolfrain enjoyed her life as a kit for a while. Though she did get sick with whitecough in leafbare, Wolfrain got over it and looked forward to becoming an apprentice. There were two other kits in the den, Palmkit and Berrykit. One day, all five kits grew quite bored of the GaleClan nursery and decided to go on an adventure. It turned out to be disastrous. They climbed up a very high hill to look around, and a hawk swooped down and attacked them. All five kits scrambled from the top, trying to escape the fearsome predator. Wolfrain saved Nightkit from the hawk by jumping on to it, but she was thrown off. The hawk swooped Palmkit up into its talons and was gone only seconds before a patrol managed to track them down. They were all punished, and Wolfrain felt terrible. She hadn’t suggested the trip, they had sort of decided on it as a group, but she was responsible as well, and because they had gone, Palmkit was dead. It was Wolfrain’s first experience at losing someone she had loved, but it would not be her last.
Berrykit was older than the other three, and he became an apprentice before them as well. Wolfrain, Nightkit, and Rainkit all cheered on as Berrypaw went to the apprentices’ den, though they missed him in the nursery. It was only a few moons later that they themselves became apprentices. Rainpaw became a medicine cat apprentice, while Nightpaw and Wolfrain joined Berrypaw and the other apprentices in their den. Wolfrain’s mentor was Blueclaw, an experienced older cat who would be a good choice for deputy, though he was not. Wolfrain was his third apprentice, but neither of Blueclaw’s other apprentices lived to their warrior ceremony. This didn’t bother Wolfrain at all as she proudly bore her new name of Wolfpaw and went on with the duties of an apprentice. She stayed out of Splashpool’s way as he didn’t seem to like her, and she didn’t mind helping the Elders. They seemed to like her and tended to tell her stories, which Wolfrain always enjoyed.
She didn’t realize it then, but Wolfrain’s life started to go wrong on the first day she went patrolling with Blueclaw. They were going around the boundaries, and when they went around the MireClan one, a very plumb mouse raced in front of them then stopped, exhausted. Blueclaw easily caught it when they heard a commotion. There was a MireClan cat in GaleClan territory. Blueclaw demanded of the cat why he was there. The cat, Stripepaw, said he had been chasing the mouse. Wolfrain convinced Blueclaw to let him go without saying a thing. After all, they had gotten the mouse. Blueclaw agreed, but told her he wouldn’t be that lenient next time there was someone. Wolfrain’s training went on as normal after that, and she tried to work hard.
A moon later, she ran into Stripepaw on the border while on her own hunting on a break day. They talked for a while, and promised to meet again the next day. Wolfrain didn’t really realize it, but she was meeting Stripepaw more and more, and enjoying it. One day, she met him and he proudly announced his new name was Stripefang. Wolfrain couldn’t have been happier, though as she was still Wolfpaw, she was a little envious. That was the same moon that Berrypaw became Berryfur and Wolfrain’s mother, Redheart, died. No one really knew what had happened to her, but Redheart had wandered off one day alone, and they found her body one day in GaleClan territory, but on the edge of it. There was no blood, so no one knew what had happened. Splashpool wanted to blame Wolfrain for it, and she let him, though ignored it. That moon was very odd for Wolfrain. Only nights after getting his warrior name, Berryfur told Wolfrain he loved her. She didn’t know what to say, but she realized then she loved Stripefang, and her life went downhill from there. Stripefang told her whenever they were together, that Berryfur was right for her, but Wolfrain didn’t care. Blueclaw began to suspect his apprentice when he saw Stripefang one day, but he had no proof on it.
Both Splashpool and Blueclaw died of blackcough the same moon Wolfrain left her apprentice name of Wolfpaw behind, and became Wolfrain as her sister became Nightbird. That ended the suspicion towards her, and with it gone, Wolfrain found she only wanted to be with Stripefang more. Berryfur knew nothing, but Wolfrain felt terrible about him. She was always troubled, knowing her real loyalty was to Stripefang, not to her Clan. It became worse when Nightbird died giving birth to her kits. Wolfrain had lost nearly everyone she knew, and didn’t want to let Rainpaw out of her sight, afraid he, too, would be gone like her sister.
No matter what Wolfrian tried, she couldn’t keep away fate. When Rainpaw died, attacked and killed by a badger, there was little that kept Wolfrain in GaleClan anymore. She didn’t want to leave her Clan, nor did she want to pretend she was always loyal to them. Stripefang was little help, telling her they had to stop seeing each other, but not wanting to leave her either. It started to drive Wolfrain over the edge, and it showed. Everyone was concerned, but she didn’t tell them anything. Part of her wanted to leave Stripefang, part wanted to keep their relationship secret, and part wanted to leave. Wolfrain was staying because, in her heart, she loved her Clan, or that was what she told herself at least.
Yet when Berryfur died and everyone Wolfrain had every loved saved for Stripefang was gone, she couldn’t stand it anymore. GaleClan found out her secret one day, but she didn’t care. Wolfrain left GaleClan, leaving with Stripefang, hoping they could live their lives as loners if not Clan cats. For a while, Wolfrain loved life. Everything was good and whole for her, and the broken pieces of her were starting to fill back in. Wolfrain was happier as a loner, free of her responsibilities and with no weights on her. She could love Stripefang without worrying that someone would find out she loved a MireClan cat.
Wolfrain never thought of herself as cursed, but it seemed that any cat she loved would die inevitably. It was probably lucky for her she never imagined it was her fault, even when Stripefang died during a thunderstorm. If she had imagined it could possibly be her fault, Wolfrain would no doubt have killed herself to keep everyone else from being hurt. As it was, she had an instinct to survive that kept her going, even when everything she loved was gone. Wolfrain learned to live on her own and depend on no one. She has lived the life of a loner for nearly a year, and Wolfrain has grown quite accustomed to it, but she would also like to join a Clan if she could. Wolfrain lives in an abandoned fox den near ThornClan territory. She tries to stay as far from MireClan and GaleClan as she can possibly be, terrified they both hate her. GaleClan, for never truly being loyal, and MireClan, for stealing one of their warriors and even getting him killed, even if it wasn’t her fault. Wolfrain sometimes converses with ThornClan cats if she happens upon them, but as she doesn’t trespass on their territory, this is quite rare. If ThornClan, or any Clan, wanted to have her as a warrior, Wolfrain would probably consider it, though she fears she might end up hurting them. Part of her as finally begun to think that she may be the cause of the deaths of everyone she every really loved. Wolfrain tries to live on with her spirit, hoping that one day her life will take a turn for the good. She believes StarClan may help her, but refuses to believe they caused the deaths of those she loved. The only thing left for Wolfrain to be loyal to is StarClan, and she clings onto it because of this.
